چکیده

By utilizing the spin-dependent mean free paths in Co, a polarizer-analyzer system for hot electrons has been established, enabling ballistic electron emission microscopy to measure the effects of scattering on the spin-dependent transport of hot electrons. Through the gradual oxidation of Al, it is possible to controllably increase the scattering effects of a Cu–Al–Cu spacer layer. As scattering increases, the measured polarization exiting the spacer decreases. The effect is explained by a straightforward Auger-like hot-electron scattering process which conserves spin flux but reduces the polarization of a hot-electron current through generation of energetic electron-hole pairs. © 2005 American Institute of Physics. The Contribution of Hot Electron Spin Polarization to the Magnetotransport in a Spin-Valve Transistor at Finite Temperatures

The effect of spin mixing due to thermal spin waves and temperature dependence of hot electron spin polarization to the collector current in a spin-valve transistor has been theoretically explored. We calculate the collector current as well as the temperature dependence of magnetocurrent at finite temperatures to investigate the relative importance of spin mixing and hot electron spin polarizat...

پراکندگی نوترینوی میونی از روی الکترون قطبیده به الکترون و نوترینو در فضا- زمان ناجابه‌جایی

For neutrino scattering from polarized electron, the weak interaction term in the cross section is significantly suppressed by the polarized term. The magnetic moment term does not receive any correction from the electron polarization. Hence, the study of the magnetic moment of neutrinos through scattering from the polarized electron leads to a stronger bound on the neutrino magnetic moment com...

Dissimilar Ferromagnetic Layer Dependence of Hot Electron Magnetotransport

The material dependence of hot electron magnetotransport in a spin-valve transistor has been theoretically explored. We calculate the parallel and antiparallel collector current changing the types and relative spin orientation of the ferromagnetic layers. The magnetocurrent has been presented as well. In this calculations, spin dependent self energy effect of hot electron in ferromagnetic mater...

Spontaneous Spin-Polarization of Ballistic Electrons in Single Mode Quantum Wires due to Spin-Splitting

We show that a quantum wire device with spin splitting can work as an active spin polarizer. Hot electrons in one ‘spin’ subband (e.g. ‘spin-up’) may pass such a device with weak electron pair scattering, while electrons in the opposite subband (‘spindown’) may have high conversion probability into the ‘spin-up’ subband, resulting in spin polarization of a hot electron beam. Under different cir...

The radiative transfer equations for Compton scattering of polarized low frequency radiation on a hot electron gas

We deduce the equations that describe how polarized radiation is Comptonized by a hot electron gas. Low frequencies are considered, and the equations are expanded to second order in electron velocities. Induced scattering terms are included and a Maxwellian velocity distribution for the electrons is assumed. The special case of an axisymmetric radiation field is also considered, and the corresp...
